About The Editors of The Times Of Astrology

Born on 17th January 1955 in a humble family of U.P.,
Shri Daya Shanker had a brilliant academic career. He got
National Scholarship on his merit in 1969. He completed
. his M.Sc. in pure mathematics from Allahabad University,
(the university called Oxford University of lndia) in 1975.
During his graduation period in the University, he started
studying astrology seriously on his own since 1973. He
was simultaneously very rnu.ch fond of fiction writing too
in Hindi. His first novel after a few stories and poems, was
published in 1975 by Chitralekha Prakashan, Allahabad and
reprinted by Sahitya Bhandar, Allahabad in 1985 again.
He took serious interest in Ashwamedha Yajnas organised
by Shanti Kunj Haridwar who awarded him with the Hon'y
Title of Yajnaveer in 1993.
He authored several articles jointly with his wife on
various important topics in astrology published in almost
all leading English/ Hindi astrological magazines and journals
as well as other magazines and Newspapers continuously
since 1989. .
Various Hon'y titles such as "Jyotish Martand", "yotish
Vis ha rad", "Jyotish Shiromani,,,. "Jyotish Sam rat", "Jyoti sh
Brihaspati" and "Vaastu Martand" etc. were conferred
upon him in different astrological conferences ceremoniously
for his outstanding work in the field of astrology.
His holiness Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Kanchi
Kamakotipeetham, Shree Jayendra Saraswati presented
to him in the Ekambareswarar Temple of Kanchipuram
ceremoniously the title and award in the name of great
prophet Nostradamus' instituted by Express Star Teller, a
monthly astrological magazine from Indian Express Group
i.e. "Nostradamus Award 1994" on 5th September 1995 for
his world predictions 1994 published in Express Star Teller
that came true. This is still the highest award with citation,
trophy and amount of Rs. 11000/- in the field of astrology.
He facilitated "Future Samachar" to come up since its
inception in 1995 to November 1997 when his equally
illustrious wife Smt. Rajeshwari Shanker took over the reins of another prestigious astrological magazine, "The Times
Of Astrology" after the sad demise of its founder editor
late Shri R. Santhanam who started it in 1985. Since
November 1997, he is associated as Hon'y Consultant Editor
to the bilingual magazine of Jyotirved, "The Times Of
Astrology". In establishing the Indian Jyotish to the level
of Jyotirved, he continues to provide necessary technical
input and valuable suggestions to his wife enabling her to
carry out not only "The Times Of Astrology" but its
very sound publication division, "Nishkaam Peeth Prakashan"
which published so far more than 50 rare books on astrology
and authentic Vedic literature by the grace of Swami
Sanatan shri ji .
He helped The Times of Astrology group as well as
other astrological magazines/institutions to organize
national/international astrological conferences on very
important issues to resolve the controversies therein.
His contribution is great in shaping the editorials and
world predictions in "The Times of Astrology" where
almost all the predictions are accredited with trueness
including the Predictions for Military Rule once more in
Pakistan (1999), Terrorists' attack in America (2001),
Carnage in Nepal (2001) and Attack on Indian Parliament
(2001), Neither Atal nor Sonia: A dark horse leads India
as prime Minister (2004), Second Term Awaits the War
President in USA (2004) and Death (Passing away) of
one of the Shankaracharyas (2004) etc.
He is occupying a very senior position in the Govt. of
India. (being a member of Indian Revenue Service of 1983
batch). He has been posted at Patiala in Punjab as
Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) and retired as Commisioner of Income Tax (Administration and Appeals) from Mumbai in 2016 , a very important
administrative & appellate post in the rank and pay of a
Joint Secretary to the Govt. of India
Smt. Rajeshwari Shanker, the wife of Sh. Daya Shanker -
is the worthy editor of The' Times of Astrology, the
illustrious journal of Jyotirved founded in1985. She needs
no introduction to the esteemed readers in the field of
Astrology.
